It’s always a pleasure to arrive at the Bundesschullandheim Saalbach, and this year was no exception. The management and staff once more outdid themselves to ensure the success of our week with them. Even the weather cooperated, after an initial wet day, showing off the mountains around Hinterglemm to their best advantage.
But of course the nucleus of summer school is its trainers, and we were in the best of hands. Edmund Dudley and Sinéad Laffan were a terrific team. Their contribution to the week went far beyond the first class training, extending to the evening programmes with a pub quiz and a let-your-hair-down karaoke.
For our TEA team, it was a special pleasure to welcome back a record number of repeat participants. That’s always a welcome sign, and we also enjoy seeing how summer school acts to strengthen a network of contacts among English teachers from all over Austria. This year saw more participants than any other in the past 10 years, so the network is growing!
